The Greater Detroit Workroom Association (GDWA) was founded in 1992. After attending a national Window Fashions Conference in Tennessee, Karen realized there was a need to have a networking group closer to home where fellow workroom professionals could meet for networking, education and support. Karen co-founded the GDWA, a non-profit organization for the purposes of promoting professionalism and education for custom window treatment workroom professional. At its monthly meetings the GDWA has speakers on a variety of topics including improving business skills, supporting the design team, fabrication techniques, and personal growth.
